Students who have already met the core business prerequisites finish the plan in 12 to 18 months, but students without earlier bookkeeping studies can expect to invest 18 to two years completing the program. While the program matches all accounting schooling conditions for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination, students have the choice to customize their instruction to get ready for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) assessments too.
To be qualified to sit for the CPA assessment, pupils must have an under graduate degree and 36 units finished in Accounting Subjects and 36 components completed in Business-Related Subjects. Those pupils, who complete the Economics and Accounting major, will probably have those two conditions completed upon graduation. The one exception is if students choose Econ 189 or Econ 185 as 1 of their bookkeeping electives; those courses don't count toward the 3-6 units required for the Accounting Areas section. Pupils who take those lessons, will need to take yet another bookkeeping class to be eligible to sit for the CPA examination.
